Chelsea Plans To 'swap' Christian Pulisic With Manchester United Captain Harry Maguire

JAKARTA - Manchester United (MU) captain, Harry Maguire, is reportedly going to be the victim of a "swap" with Chelsea's Christian Pulisic, ahead of the closing of this summer's transfer window.

Chelsea have reportedly expressed interest in bringing Maguire to Stamford Bridge. Although their main target is actually Wesley Fofana of Leicester City.

Maguire is Chelsea's second most likely option. Because, so far Leicester are still trying to keep the 21-year-old player in the team.

On the other hand, Chelsea itself is negotiating with Manchester United regarding Pulisic. The Red Devils are known to want the 23-year-old on loan for one season.

Seeing MU's efforts to sign Pulisic, the Blues then saw a middle ground by offering an exchange between Pulisic and Maguire. The West London club have analyzed the possibilities.

Chelsea's interest in Maguire is felt to save Maguire's career which continues to decline. The England international is known to be at risk of losing his place under new manager Erik ten Hag.

Not only that, but Maguire has also recently been ridiculed by his own fans for making more blunders at the Red Devils' back line.

Ten Hag had already given Maguire a warning. He admitted that he could still provide a core player position as long as the player was able to prove himself worthy of the position.

"Although his career outside (the team) has been impressive, there is also internal competition and that's what a club like Man United needs. He needs to prove," said Ten Hag.
