Valentino Rossi's Intervention Behind Francesco Bagnaia's Victory

JAKARTA - Lenovo's Ducati racer, Francesco Bagnaia, won the British MotoGP race at the Silverstone Circuit, Sunday, August 7. This victory was beyond the expectations of many parties, including Bagnaia.

Bagnaia was not counted as a potential winner because he saw his performance in the free practice session and also the qualification. The Italian racer struggled to record the best lap time.

However, he broke many people's predictions. After a fairly good start, Bagnaia then managed to win the battle with Maverick Vinales and Jack Miller who finished second and third.

"I didn't think about winning today. I've said before, it will be difficult to win so I just want to fight for that," Bagnaia said in an interview with MotoGP after the race.

The decision to change tires before the race is also key. After experiencing difficulties with the hard compound front tires, Bagnaia finally decided to use the medium tires.

The selection of tires that succeeded in bringing him to the championship podium. The 25-year-old racer admitted that this could not be separated from input from his mentor, Valentino Rossi.

"He told me yesterday to try to use the medium tire and he was right. I'm happy, he helped me a lot this weekend," said Bagnaia.

This is Bagnaia's second win in a row. Previously, the former Pramac rider won the Dutch MotoGP race which was held before the summer break.
