Persija Receives Good News Ahead Of Their Visit To PSM, Ismed Sofyan And Otavio Dutra Recover From Injury

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta received good news about the condition of its two senior players, Otavio Dutra and Ismed Sofyan. After being held by a long injury, both are now in good condition.

Dutra and Ismed have meniscus injuries in their knees. Due to the situation, both of them were forced to be absent for quite a while.

Dutra, who has suffered a meniscus injury since March 2022, actually did not experience any problems during the operation. However, the recovery process has been going on for a long time which has made him miss the 2022 President's Cup and several test matches.

Ismed's recovery stage is longer. After the operation in mid-2021, until now the 42-year-old defender is still undergoing a recovery program.

Despite having been absent for quite a while, Ismed and Dutra have now returned to training with the team. The two veteran defenders have also been seen attending Nirwana Park, Bojongsari, since last week.

Persija doctor Donny Kurniawan confirmed that the injuries suffered by Dutra and Ismed had entered the final stages of the injury healing process.

"We are always monitoring the progress of their injuries. We are trying to build the physicality of these two players and we will determine whether they are physically ready or not to join the team," Donny said as quoted by the club's official website.

"This process will be carried out within a month. If there are still complaints, our physio team will check again," he continued.

With the improving condition of Ismed and Dutra, it is clear to bring fresh air for the Kemayoran Tigers to navigate the 2022/2023 competition season. Moreover, Persija have been scheduled to face PSM Makassar in the third week of Liga 1 2022/2023 at the BJ Habibie Stadium, Parepare, Friday 5 August afternoon WIB.
