JAKARTA - Borneo FC must recognize Arema FC's superiority in the first leg of the 2022 President's Cup. Diego Michiels and his friends were defeated 0-1 by Arema FC when they visited Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, Thursday, July 14, evening.

Arema FC's only puppet goal was scored by Abel Camara in the first half, precisely in the 15th minute. Camara's header using Gian Zola's bait could not be dammed by the Borneo FC goalkeeper.

Borneo FC coach, Milomir Seslija said his team appeared dominant in this match. Instead, he wondered why Arema FC survived more when they received full support from supporters.

"I can't imagine Arema FC playing defensively like that. In fact, we are more dominant. Even though Arema FC is playing in front of tens of thousands of supporters," said Seslija, as quoted by Antara.

He then explained that the goals scored by Arema FC were due to mistakes made by Borneo FC players. According to him, this should not have happened.

Facing a team like Arema FC, said Seslija, you can't make the slightest mistake. "Because they will counterattack quickly," he said.

Although now trailing 1-0 on aggregate, Seslija still believes his team can become champions. Understandably, the second leg will take place at the home of Borneo FC, Segiri Stadium, Samarinda.

"What is clear is that we have to show a fighting spirit so that in Samarinda we can perform optimally. The second leg I believe we can win and can win against Arema FC," said the coach of Borneo FC.
