PSSI Gets La Liga Spain To Develop National Football

JAKARTA – The All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) will cooperate with the Spanish La Liga for a plan to develop national football. This cooperation plan targets early childhood and women's soccer.

PSSI had a hybrid meeting with LaLiga on Wednesday, June 22. This discussion is a realization of the previous meeting between PSSI and La Liga in September last year.

"We are very happy that we from PSSI can finally meet with La Liga regarding the cooperation that will be carried out. Hopefully the results of this meeting will be positive," said PSSI Deputy Secretary General Maaike Ira who was present virtually, quoted from the federation's website.

Apart from Ira, PSSI who attended this meeting were PSSI Technical Director Indra Sjafri, Head of the Women's Football Department Papat Yunisal, as well as representatives from the Indonesian league manager PT Liga Indonesia Baru.

Meanwhile, La Liga representatives who attended were Director of the International Department Octavi Anoro, Managing Director of APAC Ivan Condina, representatives of La Liga Indonesia Rodrigo Gallego and La Liga representatives from the department of engineering and grass root development.

Ivan indicated his party's interest in knowing more about football in Indonesia. He hopes that this meeting can result in future collaborations that can produce results for Indonesian football.

"Thank you because PSSI has opened the door for us La Liga to be able to discuss and exchange ideas regarding the programs we have done with other countries. This is a good opportunity for us to know more about Indonesian football in particular,” said Ivan.
