JAKARTA - A proud achievement was made by Indonesian weightlifter Luluk Diana. She won the status of champion in the 49 kilogram class at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Youth World Championship 2022 in Leon, Mexico, Tuesday, June 14, early morning WIB.
Luluk Diana became world champion after winning a total of 170 kg. In the snatch, she lifts 75 kg. Meanwhile, during the clean & jerk, she lifted 95 kg.
Luluk Diana defeated an athlete from Poland, Oliwia W. Drzazga who took second place with a total force of 161 kg. While the third position was filled by the host athlete Gonzalez J Lopez with a total force of 153 kg.
"I am very proud to be able to give the best results for Indonesia in this event and this result is an additional motivation for me to appear in the Olympics later", Luluk said in an official statement quoted by Antara.
Luluk Diana's success was clearly welcomed by PB PABSI (Commander of the All Indonesian Weightlifting Association). The reason is that the main branch of weightlifting is indeed promoting the regeneration process of athletes.
It is hoped that young athletes like Lukuk Diana can replace the roles of their seniors. PB PABSI also hopes to get attention from all parties related to early childhood development in weightlifting.
