Germany Hold Italy 1-1, Hansi Flick Extends Unbeaten Record With Der Panzer

JAKARTA – The German national team's unbeaten record since being handled by Hansi Flick continues to grow. De Panzer was able to hold Italy 1-1 in the opener in the Nations League, Saturday, June 4 at the Renato Dall'ara Stadium, Bologna.

Joshua Kimmich's equalizer in the 73rd minute saved Germany from defeat after Italy's Lorenzo Pellegrini found the net against Manuel Nueur in the 70th minute.

Italy, looking for a remedy for disappointment after failing to qualify for the World Cup for the second year in a row, looked to field an experimental team for the League A Group Three clash in Bologna and put Flick's side into a real test.

When Roma's Lorenzo Pellegrini put the hosts ahead 20 minutes from time Italy looked set to secure a second win in their last six games but Kimmich struck three minutes later to give his side a point.

The draw means Germany have won eight and drawn twice since Flick took over from Joachim Loew after last summer's European Cup.

England will be their next opponents in the Nations League on Tuesday, while Italy will face Hungary.

In the other Nations League match on the same Saturday night, hosts Montenegro beat Romania 2-0 after getting two goals from Stefan Mugosa in the 66th minute and Marko Vukcevic in the 87th minute.

Turkey's big victory was recorded by Turkey, who defeated their guest the Faroe Islands with four goals without reply, which were scored by Cengiz Under in the 37th minute, Halil Dervisoglu in the 47th minute, Serdar Dursun in the 82nd minute and Merih Demiral in the 85th minute.
