Hopes For The Indonesian National Team To Assign Jordi Amat And Sandy Walsh In The 2023 Asian Cup Qualification, PSSI: Never Mind

JAKARTA - The hope of the Indonesian national team to be able to play Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh in the 2023 Asian Cup qualifying event certainly cannot be realized. The reason is that the naturalization process for both will not be completed on time.

As is known, the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers will be held on 8-14 June 2022 in Kuwait. Meanwhile, Sandy and Jordi's naturalization process has just entered the Ministry of State Secretariat.

This was conveyed by a member of the PSSI Executive Committee who is also in charge of the naturalization program, Hasani Abdulgani. He also asked all parties to be sincere in seeing the Indonesian national team without Sandy-Jordi in the 2023 Asian Cup qualifiers.

"It's okay if they can't compete in the Asian Cup qualifiers. Hopefully, Indonesia can qualify and they can play in the Asian Cup in 2023," Hasani said, as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, PSSI Secretary-General Yunus Nusi said Jordi and Sandy still had to resolve their naturalization administration issues, particularly those related to FIFA requirements.

"If the administrative affairs of the state are completed, they still have to change their football associations, respectively from the Spanish and Dutch Football Associations. That is a requirement from FIFA," said Yunus.

He revealed the process of changing the association takes seven to 10 days. In fact, until Monday, May 30, the process for Indonesian citizens Sandy and Jordi had not yet been completed.

"So it is not possible because we are still waiting. The final decision to become an Indonesian citizen is in the DPR. But we still hope that everything can be completed as soon as possible," said Yunus.
