Losing In The IYC 2021 Opening Match, Bali United U-18 Coach: There Is A Lot To Learn From Atletico Madrid

JAKARTA - Bali United U-18 retainer lost to Atletico Madrid U-18 in the opening match of the 2021 International Youth Championship (IYC), Wednesday 13 April. Coach Made Pasek Wijaya took a valuable lesson from this meeting.

In the match which took place at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Stadium, Bali United gave up 0-5. The Atlético Madrid U-18 goal party was scored by Pablo Pozos, Adrian Gallego Diaz, Jacobo de Oro, Victor Gordo Perez, and Ninte Nater.

Even though he had to lose in front of his own supporters, Made did not seem too disappointed with the minor results achieved by his squad. He said the results of this meeting could actually be a good experience for his young people.

"It's a good experience for young players to be able to play against a European team," Made said after the match.

Furthermore, the coach also said, the meeting between his team and Atletico actually opened an opportunity for him to see the team's weaknesses. After that he can imitate how the opposing team can perform better.

One of the things that made Made's focus for his team in this match was the problem at the back. Where he will evaluate in order to appear qualified in the follow-up match.

"We have a lot to fix and an example from opponents like Atletico Madrid," he said.

"Communication at the back is one of our homework for the next game," said the coach.

After facing Atletico Madrid U-18 in the opening match, Bali United U-28 had to get ready again. Because on Friday, April 15, they are scheduled to meet Indonesia All Star U-20 at the same stadium at 15.00 WIB.
