Holyfield: Praying For Peace In Ukraine And My Boxing Brothers Wladimir And Vitaliy Klitschko

JAKARTA - The athletes have given back support to the victims of the Ukrainian war. This time from boxing legend Evander Holyfield.

The Real Deal, as he is nicknamed, specifically gives support and prayers to his professional colleagues, Vitaliy Klitschko and Wladimir Klitschko through videos uploaded on Instagram.

He also hopes that the war will end soon and peace and love will be created in their country.

"Praying for peace in Ukraine and my boxing brothers @klitschko and @vitaliyklitschko and their families and everyone in Ukraine, face this storm now and peace and love prevail," said Holyfield, wearing a t-shirt with the Klistcho brothers on it.

Some Ukrainian athletes claim to be fighting to defend their country. This includes four world-famous boxers who are fierce in the ring.

First is Vitali Klitschko. This 50-year-old man has retired from boxing and is focusing on politics.

He admitted that he had no other choice but to take up arms to defend his homeland. "I have to do that. I'm going to war," he said.

His younger brother, Wladimir Klitschko did not want to remain silent. The boxer who once defeated Anthony Joshua was also reportedly standing at the forefront to ward off Russian troops.

His other name is Vasiliy Lomachenko. The 34-year-old boxer who has presented two Olympic gold medals also said he was ready to fight.

Loma was recently spotted wielding an M16 and is reported to have joined the Belgorod-Dniester Terror Defense Battalion.

There is also Oleksandr Usyk. The 2012 Olympic gold medalist previously canceled his match against Anthony Joshua to return to his country.

He is reported to have been included in the squad list for the Kyiv region defense army. Not long ago he also showed a photo in full uniform and carrying an automatic machine gun.

But it was later reported that he had left his country and was training in Europe in preparation for the fight against Joshua.

Usyk and Joshua will battle it out for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles. The winner of that duel may face the winner of Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte which takes place this month.
