Grenade Explodes Before Rosario Central Vs. Newell's Old Boys: The Field Goes Holes!

JAKARTA - A tense moment occurred before the match between Rosario Central Vs Newell's Old Boys, Monday, March 21 in the morning WIB, began. A grenade was thrown into the center of the field and exploded.

The grenade explosion that occurred made the Estadio Dr. Lisandro de la Torre has a hole in it!

The match between Rosario Central and Newell's Old Boys was indeed hot due to the rivalry between the two teams. In fact, the competition between the two is the most heated in the Argentine League.

With high rivalry, a number of clashes are often unavoidable before the Derby Rosario or Clasico Rosarino takes place. One of them was in last night's game.

Quoted from the Mirror, a supporter of one team threw a grenade onto the field and then it exploded. This has also been confirmed by Newell's via their official Twitter account.

Through the upload, Newell's showed the state of the field in the stadium which was filled with smoke and had holes due to the explosion.

"When a grenade was thrown on the pitch before Clásico Rosarino," the account wrote.

Newell's also confirmed this and stated that the kick-off of the match had been delayed due to field conditions.

"Kick-off was postponed when the referee received directions from security officers. A number of grenades were thrown on the field and the pitch was made a hole," they said, quoted by the Mirror.

Even though it was marked by a tense incident before the match started, the match was held and ended safely without any other incidents. Newell's Old Boys won this match 1-0 thanks to Juan Manuel Garcia's single goal in the 51st minute.
