Mokoginta Hits Hard, Indonesian Boxer Hero Tito Is Critical

JAKARTA - Indonesian boxer from Malang, Hero Tito, is still in critical condition after three days of treatment at Mitra Keluarga Hospital, Kelapa Gading, Jakarta. Hero Tito is reported to have suffered a brain swelling injury.

Hero Tito received this injury during a match against James Mokoginta in the additional duel match of Tibo Monabesa versus Jayson Vayson at Holywings Gatsu Club V, Jakarta, Sunday, 27 February.

Hero Tito faces off against James Mokoginta for the vacant Indonesian Boxing Association (ATI) lightweight (61.2kg) title. He was hit hard in the seventh round and could not continue the match.

Hero Tito's promoter and manager Armin Tan said the 35-year-old boxer had undergone surgery since the first day of treatment. However, after three days of treatment, his condition has not improved.

"His current condition has not improved and is critical after his brain experienced swelling. The operation was carried out since the first day of treatment," Armin Tan told reporters, as reported by Antara.

"The family in Malang is already in Jakarta and temporarily staying at my house," he continued.

The defeat of Mokoginta was the 17th in Hero Tito's career. Overall, he has played 48 matches and 29 of them ended in victory. The remaining two draws.

The match against James Mokoginta was actually a rematch. The two of them once faced each other at the DBL Arena, Surabaya, East Java on May 6, 2015. At that time, Hero Tito won points over his opponent.
