JAKARTA - Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team director Massimo Meregalli in Sepang, Malaysia, on Sunday revealed Yamaha's plan to invite World Superbike world champion Toprak Razgatlioglu to test the Yamaha YZR-M1 MotoGP bike this season.
Toprak secured the WSBK world title for Yamaha after breaking Jonathan Rea's six-season dominance of the Kawasaki team at the Mandalika Circuit in November last year.
The Turkish rider is also said to have competitive potential in the MotoGP paddock.
Meregalli said that Toprak was actually scheduled to test the MotoGP bike at Jerez at the end of last season, but the rider had to fly to Indonesia for the season-ending series and the determination of the world title.
"This year based on the calendar, we have to find a day that can match his calendar and ours," said Meregalli, quoted by Antara from the official MotoGP.com website.

"It's definitely going to be interesting and he really deserves this opportunity because what he achieved last year was incredible.
"And I'm not the only one who's curious to see him on an M1."
Furthermore, Meregalli said Toprak might get a chance to ride the M1 in August or June
"There are two possibilities, in August or June, but I'm not sure because we have exchanged about the opportunity. When we are ready, we will decide together exactly when."
