JAKARTA – IBL President Director Junas Junas Miradiarsyah confirmed that the match on the third day of the second series of IBL 2022 will go according to plan. No matches have been postponed due to the COVID-19 case.

The organizer of the highest caste of Indonesian basketball had previously postponed several matches on the first and second days due to cases of players and team officials infected with the virus. However, on the third day all matches could be held normally.

"For today, all matches can still go according to plan," said Junas when contacted by telephone by VOI.

After the first series in Jakarta went well, IBL continued the second series to Bandung which started on January 29 and will continue until February 5 next. In this second series, IBL got a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Junas said that until now the party continues to monitor the progress of the teams whose matches have been postponed. The teams will be allowed to return to their normal activities once officials and players have tested negative.

"We are still monitoring the development of the team, if the personnel, for example, have not improved or even there are additional cases, the team matches are still not being played," he said.

The previously postponed matches were Indonesia Patriot against NSH Mountain Gold, Pelita Jaya versus Satya Wacana Salatiga, and Satria Muda Pertamina against Evos Thunder Bogor.

However, Satria Muda today was able to compete again. They got permission after the latest test results showed all of their personnel were negative for COVID-19.

“At the beginning of the screening, some were positive, we have separated them and then the others are tested. Of the 25, 23 were negative. Then retested again, the 23 was still negative. In the procedure, the test results were twice negative, it was able to carry out activities, but still monitored. Satria Muda was postponed, as of today they can play," said Junas.

As per the latest IBL schedule, Satria Muda will play today. They are scheduled to meet Amartha Hangtuah Jakarta, at C-Tra Arena, Bandung, West Java.
