Lerby Eliandry's Goal Brings Bali United To Beat Borneo FC

JAKARTA - A late goal from striker Lerby Eliandry in extra time in the second half brought Bali United to victory over Borneo FC with a score of 2-1 in Week 21 of Liga 1 at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Denpasar, Bali, Saturday.

Before Lerby Eliandry's goal in the 90+2 minute, Bali United had taken the lead through a header from Privat Mbarga in the 53rd minute and Borneo FC replied with a goal from Sultan Samma in the 67th minute.

This victory made Bali United move up to third place in the Liga 1 standings with 41 points past Persib Bandung who will only play against Persikabo tonight, while Borneo FC must be stuck in eighth place with a score of 30 points from 21 matches.

Quoted from ANTARA, in the first half, Bali United created the first opportunity through Willian Pacheco after receiving a pass from Eber Bessa, but his header was still sideways on the right side of the Borneo FC goal.

Bali United again posed a threat after Stefano Lilipaly had two dangerous opportunities, but both of his shots were still blocked by the Borneo FC defense.

Ilija Spasojevic managed to create chances for Bali United, but the header from the naturalized player from Montenegro was still sideways from Gianluca Pandeynuwu's goal.

At the end of the first half, Borneo FC had two chances through the efforts of Boaz Solossa and Muhammad Sihran, but none of them came to fruition so the score remained 0-0 until halftime.

In the second half, the two teams again played openly by giving threats to each other and Borneo FC, who first created opportunities through Leo Guntara, but his hard kick was not on target.

Under pressure at the start of the second half, Bali United managed to take the lead through Privat Mbarga's header using a pass from Ricky Fajrin in the 53rd minute and changed the score to 1-0.

After winning by one goal, Bali United had a golden opportunity through Eber Bessa after receiving a pass from Ilija Spasojevic, but his shot still bounced despite being free-standing in the Borneo FC penalty box.

Borneo FC was finally able to equalize when Sultan Samma managed to take advantage of the chaos in the Bali United penalty box and then fired a shot with his left foot in the 67th minute and made the score 1-1.

In an extra time in the second half, Bali United managed to secure victory through striker Lerby Eliandry who scored in the 90+2 minute capitalizing on an error from goalkeeper Gianluca Pandeynuwu and changing the score to 2-1 which lasted until the end of the match.
