PBSI Sends Young Badminton Players To The 2022 Team Asian Championships, Here's The List

JAKARTA - The 2022 Asian Team Championships will be held in Malaysia on February 15 - 20. For this reason, PBSI as the parent organization of Indonesian badminton decided to send representatives to the tournament.

However, this time PBSI decided to send more young badminton players to represent Indonesia. This is deliberately done as an effort to orbit young players and regenerate athletes.

"In this event (Asian Team Championship 2022) we do provide an opportunity for young players to experience the atmosphere of the team championship", said Head of Binpres PBSI, Rionny Mainaky.

"This is PBSI's policy that it wants to orbit young players. One of them is by testing them in this tournament, apart from being a means of assessment and evaluation for preparation for the Thomas and Uber Cup finals later", he continued in an official release received Saturday, January 29.

In the list released, the Indonesian squad that won the Thomas Cup and participated in this event was only Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo and double pair Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin. Meanwhile, in the women's team, there is no name for the Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu Olympic champion.

Indonesia itself is a subscriber to the title in the Asian Team Championships, especially in the men's sector for the last three editions.

Seeing that note, Rionny without hesitation set a high target so that Indonesia could enter the final. The target was set by Tionny for the two teams that competed later.

"I hope that they will be able to appear independent, carefree, and give their best for Indonesia. Our target is that this team can enter the final, both in the men's team and the women's team", said Rionny.
