UFC 270 Results, Francis Ngannou Wins Points Over Ciryl Gane

JAKARTA - The duel for the heavyweight championship belt between Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane at UFC 270 took place at the Honda Center on Sunday, January 23. In that duel, Ngannou won points over Gane.

As reported by USA Today, from the start, Ngannou tried to appear dominant by attacking Gane first with a punch. However, Gane attempted to counterattack by pushing Ngannou against the railing.

Seeing an opportunity, Gane appears aggressive by applying moves and punches. But Ngannou did something else. Instead of responding to aggressive attacks, he chose to attack when the time was right.

When round one left three minutes, Ngannou pocketed the points through attacks with consecutive blows. The strategy that Ngannou used continued to be applied in the next round, allowing him to continue to secure points.

At the end of round 3, Gane almost kimura on Ngannou even though his body position is below the opponent. There were not many physical duels in round 4. The exhaustion of energy made both fighters choose to take down and submit.

Both Gane and Ngannou have the opportunity to submit. Often Ngannou and Gane swap positions while on the canvas, but it doesn't end in a lockdown victory.

Entering the 5th round, the duel was not much different from the 4th round. Doing takedowns and doing ground was an option for Ngannou and Gane. However, defending champion Ngannou has more chances to submit.

The fight ended without a KO or TKO winner. The jury decided that Ngannou won by a point over Gane.
