Hendra/Ahsan Face The Vice Hosts In The First Round Of The India Open, Must Be Careful If You Don't Want To Pick Up Your Luggage Early

JAKARTA - The India Open 2022 badminton draw has been officially released. Indonesia's mainstay in the men's doubles number Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan will meet the host's representative in the first round.

The Super 500 level competition will take place on January 11-16 at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall, New Delhi, India.

In the draw list, Hendra/Ahsan are the first seeds. The pair nicknamed The Daddies will be challenged by representatives of India, namely Prem Singh Chouhan / Rajesh Verma.

These two pairs have yet to face each other in an official tournament. Thus, Hendra/Ahsan should be aware of the strength of their potential opponent if they do not want to pick up their suitcases early.

The Daddies are a big hope to bring home the title for Indonesia. Moreover, in the draw their tough opponents such as Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin (Taiwan) and Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi (Japan), did not participate.

Apart from Hendra/Ahsan, there were three other Indonesian contingents who also went there and were ready to fight. They are Tommy Sugiarto in the men's singles and Fitriani and Yulia Yosephine Susanto in the singles and women's doubles.

In the doubles, Fitriani/Yulia immediately got a strong opponent in the round of 32 against representatives of Malaysia, Vivian Hoo/Lim Chiew Sien. Fitriani/Yulia are expected to continue the struggle of Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu who brought home one title in 2019.

Meanwhile, Fitriani, who also plays in the women's singles, will be challenged by a young American player, Lauren Lam. In this sector Fitriani should be able to go far if she looks at her experience.
