Shin Tae-yong Didn't Expect Indonesia To Lose Badly To Thailand

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team experienced a bitter result when they faced Thailand in the first leg of the 2020 AFF Cup final. Shin Tae-Yong as the national team coach did not expect his team to lose so badly.

"I didn't expect the Indonesian national team to concede so many goals and lose by a big score," Shin Tae-Yong said at a press conference after the match.

In the match that took place at the National Stadium, Singapore, Wednesday, December 29, the national team was in the hands of the War Elephant Team. Unmitigated, Thailand scored four goals without reply.

Thailand's two goals were created by Chanathip Songkrasin, surprising again because his first goal was made when the game had only been running for two minutes. Followed by the second goal when the game runs 52 minutes.

In addition to the brace from Songkrasin, Thailand's two goals were contributed by Supachak Sarachat in the 67th minute and Bordn Phala in the 83rd minute. In this match, Shin Tae-Yong also said that the opposing team won in statistics, while he admitted that the national team lacked experience.

"Once again, it is very felt that the Indonesian national team squad still lacks experience," said Shin Tae-Yong added.

The bitter result in the first leg was later recognized by Shin Tae-Yong as his learning material. The South Korean coach will continue to do his best so that his team will continue to progress and perform better in the second leg.
