The Incident Of Knocking On Referees In Liga 3 Smears Indonesian Football, Netizens: It's Like An Underground Game For The Marginal

JAKARTA - Indonesian football has been tarnished after another unfortunate incident occurred on the field. This time, it happened to the referee in charge of the League 3 competition.

A referee became the butt of the audience and a number of club officials when the game was over. The inappropriate incident was shared by the @andreasmarbun account on Twitter.

In a short video uploaded on Thursday, December 23, a referee is seen being hit, pushed, and stepped on until he falls when he has just left the field.

This incident occurred in the League 3 final in Yogyakarta, which brought together Mataram Utama vs Sleman United at the Tridadi Stadium, Sleman, Wednesday, December 22 afternoon.

"Not a day without damage. After yesterday there was a league 3 goalkeeper died from a collision and serious injuries," wrote the owner of the account.

In the video clip that was shared, there was also a description of when the incident occurred.

"I got this video in the Whatsapp group, the referee was beaten after the League 3 final match between Sleman United vs Mataram United,"

This embarrassing incident was later reported to have occurred because the Sleman United camp lodged a strong protest because two of its players were sent off.

This upload then invited cynical comments from netizens. Many of them condemned the incident and suggested that harsh punishment be imposed on the club in question.
