Laos Can Be The National Team's Goal Barn, But Shin Tae-Yong Asks His Players To Stay Focused

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will continue the struggle in the 2020 AFF Cup by playing the second match of the group phase against Laos on Sunday tomorrow.

Ahead of this match, Shin Tae-yong realized that Laos was not a tough opponent, they could even become a goal granary for the national team. However, the South Korean coach still asked his team to appear with high focus.

"For us it might be easier to get a win against Laos, but I ask the players to stay focused so that the players can work even harder and score more goals," said Shin Tae-yong during a pre-match online press conference attended by VOI, Saturday, 11. December.

Regarding Laos' performance, Shin Tae-yong is not too worried. The reason is, if you look at the records, Laos is a team that easily concedes.

Of the two matches that have been undertaken in the Group B phase, Laos has not won at all. They continue to sink because they went home without success.

In the first match Laos lost 0-2 to Vietnam, in the second match they again reaped more bitter results because they lost 0-4 to Malaysia. The results of these two matches made Shin Tae-yong believe that the national team could win big in the game the day after tomorrow.

"Actually, if I'm honest, Laos is a very weak team in Group B. It feels a little bad to admit this, but Laos has conceded a lot and the players' skills are not good," said Shin Tae-yong.

Different from Laos' record which was lacking in spurs in the previous two matches, the national team actually had a strong capital to appear strong in the match later. In the first match, the Garuda squad won 4-2 over Cambodia.

This result is what Shin Tae-yong hopes can be a strong asset for his team to appear even more enthusiastic when facing Laos.
