Greysia/Apriyani Bend Knees Of Korean Women's Doubles In WTF 2021 Second Qualification

JAKARTA - In the second match of the preliminary round of Group A World Tour Finals 2021, Thursday, the Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu pair lost two straight games to the South Korean women's doubles Kim Soyeong/Kong Heeyong 15-21, 18-21.

The women's doubles, who won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics, had reversed her opponent's advantage with a score of 15-12 in the second game.

However, the pressure from Kim/Kong was getting stronger and they were chasing again to reclaim their dominance in the field.

The Indonesian representative was also given the match until the end of the game, although he finally had to admit the superiority of South Korea today.

With the results of today's match, Greysia/Apriyani have recorded one win and one loss each from the two matches they have played.

In the first match on Wednesday, Greysia/Apriyani defeated Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai of Thailand with two straight games 21-15, 21-12.

Furthermore, in the third match of the Group A preliminary round, their last opponents were Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan from Malaysia.

Greysia/Apriyani must win in tomorrow's match to qualify for the semifinals of the tournament later this year.
