JAKARTA - F1 teams will work late on Thursday to prepare their cars and gear at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix after cargo, including engines, arrived late in Brazil from last week's race in Mexico.

Haas team boss Guenther Steiner said the crew were released from the curfew in Brazil and inspection times were reset as a result of the delay, which he heard was due to bad weather in Mexico.

"It's landed but I don't think it's all on the track yet," Steiner said of the cargo, as quoted by Reuters.

"Looks like the plane has landed. That's what they told me maybe 45 minutes ago, so it will all be on track in the next few hours.

"I think the crew will have to work all night," he added.

Stenier said the new weekend format of qualifying on Friday for Saturday's 100km sprint race would continue as scheduled before Sunday's Grand Prix.

The Sao Paulo GP is the second part of a triple-header or three races in a row, followed by Qatar next week.

Steiner said the ship's cargo had arrived on schedule with equipment for the garage and hospitality.

"I don't know exactly which part of the car hasn't arrived yet, but of course the engine hasn't arrived yet. I don't think the toolbox has arrived and without it, you can't work," he said of the current situation.

"So basically we still can't work on the car, even if the parts are there."
