It Is Confirmed That He Cannot Defend The Indonesian National Team, Marc Klok: From My Heart, I Am Disappointed

JAKARTA - Marc Klok's hopes to defend the Indonesian national team have disappeared. It is certain that he will not be brought into the squad that will appear in the 2021 AFF Cup in December.

The news made the Persib Bandung player disappointed. Through his personal Twitter account, Klok expressed his feelings and hopes about participating in the national team.

"A few days ago, I received news that I could not defend the Garuda national team this year," wrote Marc Klok, as quoted by VOI, Tuesday 9 November.

"From the bottom of my heart, I am quite disappointed, because I am really looking forward to playing in Southeast Asia's most prestigious tournament later this year," he added.

Even though Klok was not included this year, he still had high hopes. Moreover, so far he has struggled and worked hard to realize one of his dreams, not only in terms of performance but also documents that must be completed.

"Not a few efforts have also been made to make my hopes and dreams come true as soon as possible, all the documents have been prepared, but unfortunately the decision says otherwise," he continued.

In the midst of this disappointing news, there is also good news that Klok shares. The naturalized player revealed that next year he had the opportunity to participate in an effort to defend the national team.

"But the good news is that in April 2022, I will be able to defend the Indonesian national team. And it's only six months to wait for the moment," said Klok.

Finally, he did not forget to thank all those who have helped him so far in taking care of his citizenship documents.

"I would like to thank all those who have helped in this process."

"Thank you also to friends who support Garuda who have supported. Hopefully I can soon see myself in uniform again," he concluded.

Klok itself has actually officially held the status of an Indonesian Citizen (WNI) through the naturalization route in November 2020. However, he still has not received permission to enter the national team squad from FIFA because he still has to prove documents stating that he has Indonesian blood as a naturalized player.
