"We are aware of a social media message involving racist harassment sent online to a player after the FA Cup match between Tamworth and Tottenham Hotspur yesterday (Sunday, January 12, 2025)," read a statement from the Staffordshire Police.
The 28-year-old used social media after the game to share screenshots of abuse he received on Instagram.
"After an incredible day today, this is the last thing I expected to see when I opened Instagram."
"However, thank you for all the support today. The fans are really amazing," Wreh tweeted on his personal X account.

"Racist abuse will never be tolerated and officers will investigate any reports as thoroughly as possible to ensure those responsible for handling them properly," the Staffordshire Police said again.
Wreh was a substitute for the second half in the match. The match at home to Tamworth was won by Spurs with a score of 3-0 after going through two extra rounds after the score was 0-0 until normal time.
