Wolfsburg Vs RB Salzburg 2-1: Die Wölfe Lives Hope Of Qualifying For The Knock Out Round

JAKARTA - VfL Wolfsburg successfully overcame RB Salzburg's resistance by winning 2-1 in the Champions League Group G match at the Volkswagen Arena, Wednesday morning.

As reported by Antara, Wolfsburg's two goals were scored by Ridle Baku and Lukas Nmeca each, while the only goal for the visitors was contributed by Maximiliam Wober.

This victory revived Wolfsburg's hopes of qualifying for the next phase. The German club are currently in third place in the standings with 5 points, 2 points adrift of group leaders Salzburg with 7 points.

Salzburg had their first chance two minutes into the game through Karim Adeyemi's shot from inside the box but the ball went just wide of the Wolfsburg goal.

Just a minute later, Wolfsburg scored with Baku's shot into the bottom right corner of the box after receiving Yannick Gerhardt's pass. The score becomes 1-0.

Salzburg equalized in the 30th minute thanks to Maximilan Woeber's curling left-footed free-kick that goalkeeper Koen Casteels couldn't stop. The position became 1-1 which lasted until the first half was over.

The hosts were almost back in front four minutes after the start of the second half, had Adeyemi not squandered a golden opportunity after her shot from close range went wide.

Wolfsburg finally managed to score a second goal in the 60th minute. Miximilian Arnold crossed low into the penalty box which was completed by Nmecha's accurate shot into the top right corner of Philipp Kohn's goal. The hosts are back 2-1 up.

After that, there were no additional goals until the refereeing round ended the match.
