This recall was announced on April 9, 2026 with details covering the Kona EV and Ioniq EV models from their respective production years. Hyundai ensures that all affected vehicle owners will be contacted directly through official letters.
As a handling step, consumers are asked to immediately schedule a visit to an official dealer. Later, the vehicle's battery will be checked for software updates or, if necessary, repaired on the battery cell without charge.
