JAKARTA - Jaecoo Indonesia is looking at the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) with confidence. This Chinese automotive manufacturer brought its entire product line to the exhibition and targeted the acquisition of vehicle order letters (SPK) in significant amounts throughout the exhibition.

"During this period, approximately 11 days, hopefully we can get 3,000 SPK," said Head of Sales Jaecoo Indonesia Willy Winawan, at the IIMS 2026 event, not long ago.

The target is not without reason, because Jaecoo is experiencing a positive trend through a model that has been introduced to the market first. One of them is the Jaecoo J5 EV which has been said to have bagged tens of thousands of orders since the end of last year.

In the Indonesian market, Jaecoo offers a fairly complete selection of technology, ranging from conventional gasoline-powered engines (ICE), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), to Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). The models marketed include J5, J7, and J8 with different characters and segments.

Business Director of the Jaecoo Indonesia Unit, Jim Ma, assessed that the response of Indonesian consumers to the J5 EV was extraordinary since it was first introduced. In fact, in the short time after the launch, direct bookings jumped sharply.

"Since its launch, the public response has been phenomenal, surpassing 2,000 SPKs in just two days. By January 2026, I am proud to announce that the total SPK has exceeded 12,000 units," said Jim Ma.

Not just showing off products in the exhibition area, Jaecoo also carries a different approach by involving visitors in product development. Through a program titled JAECOO Co-Creation, consumers are invited to participate directly to provide input regarding the development direction of their latest electric SUV, Jaecoo J5 EV.

Meanwhile, Head of Marketing Jaecoo Indonesia Ilham Pratama, emphasized the involvement of consumers as an important element in the brand's journey. He assessed that customers not only play a role as buyers, but also strategic partners in shaping products that are relevant to the needs of the Indonesian market.

"At Jaecoo, we do not view customers as just end users, but we also actively involve them in the decision-making process and development direction," said Ilham.
