Already In China, Aion UT Super With Battery Swap Will Enter Indonesia?

JAKARTA - GAC presents innovation in its home country China by presenting Aion UT Super with exchangeable batteries or battery swaps. Of course, this condition throws away user anxiety about the length of battery charging.

So will this model be implemented in Indonesia? Given that Aion UT has landed in Indonesia and its acceptance is quite good.

Responding to the above, GAC Indonesia Chief Executive Officer Andry Ciu, said that to bring in an electric car with a battery swap scheme, special facilities must be prepared domestically.

"We are still considering whether the investment in facilities is necessary or not," he told reporters some time ago.

According to him, these facilities can be considered if the user is an online taxi, of course this is very much needed, but different from retail.

"If the users are retail, with a wall charger at home, their needs have been met," he added.

As is known, the presence of Aion UT Super is an effort to collaborate between three giant brands ranging from GAC Group, CATL, and JD. Visually, Aion UT Super mostly reflects the existing Aion UT 2025 design. It features a 5-door hatchback body structure, 5 seats, positioning it as a pure electric compact car.

From the side, Aion UT Super boasts of semi-hidden door handles and dark exterior rearview mirrors. The pillar-C area is decorated with decorative elements. The dimensions are consistent with current UT Aions, 4,270mm in length, 1,850mm wide, and 1,575mm high, with a wheel axis distance of 2,750mm.

According to information from the previously disclosed declaration of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Aion UT Super is powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of 100 kW (134 hp), consistent with a 2025 model. It is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery provided by CATL with a capacity of 54,036 kWh, providing a range of 500 kilometers.
