Xpeng Announces New R&D Center In Munich

JAKARTA Automotive manufacturer from China, Xpeng, is increasingly serious about expanding its global steps. After recording rapid growth in the domestic market, Xpeng is now ready to expand heavily into Europe by establishing a R&D (Research and Development) center in Munich, Germany. The presence of this facility affirms Xpeng's commitment to strengthen its position in one of the world's main export markets.

The news was announced directly at the IAA Mobility Munich 2025 event, reported by CnEVPost, Tuesday, September 9. The R&D Center in Munich will be the first in Europe as well as the 9th in the world for Xpeng, completing their research networks in Silicon Valley and San Diego, United States.

Carrying out the principle of In Europe, together with Europe,' this research center will focus on understanding the needs of local consumers, accelerating technological innovation, and encouraging the product localization process.

"The Munich Center allows Xpeng to immediately listen to European users and translate their needs into innovations," said Xpeng Vice President Brian Gu.

This move not only expands R&D capabilities, but also shows Xpeng's seriousness in strengthening its global expansion.

At the IAA Mobility exhibition, Xpeng also exhibited five flagship models, including the latest generation P7 sedan, G6 2025 SUV, G9 2025 SUV, MPV X9, to P7+. Not only that, but they also present Iron humanoid robots, flying cars, Land Aircraft Carrier prototypes, as well as the architecture of the SEPA smart platform (Smart Electric Platform Architecture).

In the future, Xpeng targets to launch electric vehicles with Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities by 2026, as well as start testing robotaxi services in China.
