Instagram Mitsubishi Motors Indonesia Presents Mystery Box, Teaser Launches DST Concept?

JAKARTA - Recently, the official Instagram account Mitsubishi Motors Indonesia @mitsubishimotorsid stole the attention by uploading a mysterious black box flown by a helicopter with the tagline "Ready TO UNCOVER YOUR NEXT DESTINATION".

Not a few then assumed that the upload was a teaser for the planned launch of a new Mitsubishi product which will soon be presented by PT. MMKSI, which is a production version of the Mitsubishi DST Concept which was previously exhibited at the Philippine Motor Show last October 2024.

Plus, the caption in the post reads 'Something special hidden in Mitsubishi's mystery box... Can you guess #TemanTemanSejalan what is ready to tell me to go to a dream destination?', it also strengthens speculation.

Based on the upload on the official Instagram Mitsubishi Motors Indonesia @mitsubishimotorsid, what is the possibility of the product to be launched by Mitsubishi is the DST Concept?

Previously, during the MMKSI Media Gathering, in Jakarta, May 16, 2025, the President Director of PT. MMKSI Atsushi Kurita gave his views on how important the Indonesian automotive market was for Mitsubishi.

Pasar Indonesia memiliki potensi yang jauh lebih besar untuk berkembang. Hal ini yang menjadikan Indonesia sebagai salah satu pasar yang paling penting, ucapnya saat itu.

At the same event, General Manager of Marketing Communication & PR Division PT. MMKSI Intan Vidiasari also had a similar view.

"Indonesia is one of the most important markets in the world for Mitsubishi Motors because it continues to increase in volume," he added.

DST itself is an acronym for Dynamic Spacious Three row, which refers to the cabin design with three rows of seats. In terms of appearance, the DST Concept carries a T-shaped lamp design and a grille Dynamic Shield which is a hallmark of Mitsubishi. The interior is also designed with a premium touch, and is equipped with modern features such as a full-screen-based instrument and head unit panel, as well as driving mode.

Ahead of the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025 in July, the appearance of this teaser reinforces speculation that the launch of the DST Concept will be held at the annual automotive exhibition.

If this is true, consumers in Indonesia will soon get the latest three-line SUV option developed from a new platform. Mitsubishi stated that the DST Concept is a completely new model, specially developed to meet the needs of modern families in the Southeast Asia region.

Until now, MMKSI still has not provided further information regarding technical specifications or official launch times. However, Mitsubishi's move to start teasing the public through social media is a strong signal that the launch of their latest product is just a matter of time.
