JAKARTA - Bad news comes from the largest automotive manufacturer in the United States (US), Ford, which announced a recall involving the pickup model Ranger and Everest in Australia.

Quoting from Drive, Friday, May 2, the manufacturer nicknamed the "oval blue" announced the recall of 13,490 units including the 2022-2025 model from Ranger and Everest.

Affected vehicles are models equipped with a 3.0 liter 'Lion' turbocharged V6 diesel engine.

The local Infrastructure Department said the reason for the recall program was because of potential damage to the convex axis of the left engine on the diesel V6 car.

"Due to production defects, the supply of the left engine's bubungan axis can be broken. This can cause the engine to shut down and lose power suddenly while driving," said the Infrastructure Department.

The department added that sudden power loss could increase the risk of accidents that cause serious injuries or deaths.

"Sudden loss of movement while driving increases the risk of accidents, which can result in serious injuries or deaths for vehicle passengers and other road users," he added.

The manufacturer will contact affected vehicle owners and reach a network of dealers in Australia to immediately check and repair them.

Since the machine is experiencing problems due to production defects, Ford says checking and repairs are free of charge.
