The car Grill is a perforated or patterned lattice located at the front of the car. The car Grill has an important function to protect the engine, cool the engine, and improve the car's aerodynamics.

Then what if this goal can be dangerous? Unusual news comes from GMC, the manufacturer of trucks, vans, and SUVs marketed by General Motors (GM). GMC was forced to pull about 70,000 units of Sierra 1500 pickup from circulation. The reason is that it is not kidding where the part of the front goal of this car has the potential to be released when driving.

Launching Road & Track, February 13, this problem stems from the latest Sierra goal design that is wider and bolder, which has become a source of disaster.

It is also known from the recall announcement released by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), the upper trim installed on the engine hood and holding the front chrome grip deflector can be broken. As a result, the grip can be released suddenly. NHTSA even mentioned the words "grille detachment" or "unleaving the grip" in its announcement.

GM estimates that about three percent of the 70,768 units included in this recall have these defects. More worryingly, GM claims to have received 1,225 field reports that may be linked to these defects, and at least four accident cases are thought to be caused by this problem.

This recall only affects Sierra 1500 output in 2022 with a chrom grip. That is, the models after and those using other types of grips are not included in this problem. GM has also issued a sales termination order to dealers for all units included in the recall list, both new and used.

Ironically, GM is currently still in the solution development stage for this problem. Although spare parts diagrams show that parts in question are available as separate parts, some owners at Reddit claim that for now, the only solution through General Motors is buying a new overall goal. At least, for those who had experienced this problem before the recall and were forced to buy a new grip at their own expense, now have the opportunity to apply for reimbursement.
