JAKARTA Electric car manufacturer from China, BYD, continues to show positive performance in the Indonesian automotive market. Based on data from Gaikindo, BYD's sales have now managed to penetrate more than 2,000 units per month.

In July, BYD recorded a retail sales of 2,047 units, while in August the figure increased to 2,389 units.

Luther Panjaitan, Head of Marketing & Communication of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, confirmed this achievement.

"The official sale of BYD began to be documented by Gaikindo since July, and in the last two months it has reached between 2,300 and 2,600 units," he said when met in Bekasi, Monday, October 7.

Luther added that BYD's sales performance continues to show a positive trend, with BYD now being one of the key players in the electric car segment in Indonesia.

BYD has presented four models in the Indonesian market, namely Dolphin, Atto 3, Seal, and MPV electricity M6. Interestingly, the M6 model that was recently launched at the GIIAS event became the best-selling product among other models.

The current sale of M6 dominates more than 50 percent, although it still has to be calculated in more detail because there are several purchases from outside the city, added Luther.

He also emphasized that BYD's achievements had been predicted, given the targeted price positioning and market segments. "Every model, such as Seal and Atto 3, has also proven to be the main players in their respective segments," he concluded.
