JAKARTA - Xiaomi, a leading technology manufacturer that is now entering the environmentally friendly vehicle segment, is targeting to increase its production capacity starting this October.

Reporting from CNevpost, Wednesday, October 2, Xiaomi through its Weibo website announced this ambitious plan, including a commitment to speed up deliveries of their electric cars.

The Xiaomi EV plant will continue to increase production capacity in October, with a target of reaching 20,000 units per month, the Xiaomi EV wrote in a statement.

Previously, Xiaomi EV managed to deliver its first electric sedan, Xiaomi SU7, with production figures reaching 10,000 units per month. This increase in production is expected to accelerate shipments until the annual target of 100,000 units is reached early.

Since its debut on March 28, Xiaomi SU7 has been available in three variants: Standard, Pro, and MAX. Deliveries began in April with the MAX variant as a top priority, followed by the Pro variant which began shipping in May.

Xiaomi's seriousness in the electric car world is increasingly visible, especially with the news that they have started the construction of a second phase of the factory. This factory is expected to further increase production capacity, as Xiaomi plans to launch a new SUV model that is ready to compete in the global electric vehicle market.

The move shows that Xiaomi is not only serious in the world of technology, but also has the ambition to become a major player in the electric automotive industry.
