Accelerate Penetration In Automotive, Construction Of The Second Phase Xiaomi Car Factory Begins

JAKARTA - Chinese technology producer Xiaomi, which is now playing in the environmentally friendly car segment, seems to be getting serious about getting into the automotive industry.

The proof, based on a report from Carnewschina, Thursday, September 26, the construction of the second phase of the Xiaomi Automobile plant is rumored to have started and workers have carried out day and night construction to ensure a faster settlement.

Part of the foundation of the second plant has been completed and construction has reportedly started since the purchase of the land was made. Even until the weekend the workers continued to build non-stop.

The second phase of the factory is most likely an important element in increasing the production of the second model of Xiaomi, the MX11 SUV. Previously, the SUV model was seen several times as being piloted in China.

The report reveals that the presence of this second phase of the factory will certainly help accelerate shipments, and pave the way for new models of Xiaomi's future car.

The new plant will also likely implement manufacturing techniques such as super-casting to reduce costs and speed up production time. Just as it was already implemented in its first factory.

Previously, the construction of the first phase of the Xiaomi factory began in April 2022, covering an area of 720,000 square meters, and was completed in June 2023. This second phase of the factory is adjacent to the first plant and covers a smaller area of 531,000 square meters.
