Automotive expert and graduate of the Bandung Institute of Technology Yannes Martinus Pasaribu advises consumers to ask about batteries before buying electric vehicles (EVs/electric vehicles). Before deciding to buy an electric car, consumers are advised to ask a number of important questions to dealers to ensure that the vehicle purchased is in accordance with their needs and so that they understand the operation of the car.

"Make sure to know the battery capacity, the travel distance that can be achieved with one charge, the type of charging connector used, and whether the car only supports slow charging or also features fast charging (fast charging)," Yannes said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 2.

In addition to the technical specifications of the electric car you want to buy, prospective buyers must also understand the required charging time and various features available in the vehicle. Yannes assesses that knowledge is important so that consumers can choose a car that suits their lifestyle and daily needs.

Second, Yannes emphasized the importance of querying the warranty period offered, especially for batteries and other components.

"Also make sure to find out the location and availability of the full-sale service network, so that maintenance and repair of electric cars can be carried out easily," he said.

Furthermore, regarding financing, Yannes suggested that consumers ask about available credit or leasing programs, including interest rates and other requirements.

"That way, consumers can choose the financing option that best suits their financial capacity," said Yannes.

Prospective buyers are also advised to ask for recommendations from Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) around where they live. Some dealers may also provide charging facilities in their place, which could be added value for consumers.

Yannes emphasized the importance for consumers to understand how to charge electric cars, both at home and at SPKLU. The electricity of the house must also be in accordance with the need for electric car power supply.

"Ask the dealers if they provide chargers that are integrated with cars and charger installation services at home," he said.
