Toyota Ensures GR Yaris Facelift Is Regularly Produced, But There Are Quota And Through Queue Systems

TANGERANG - Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) has officially introduced GR Yaris Facelift in Indonesia through the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Thus, this complements the ranks of high-performance cars from Toyota in the country.

This car at first glance has the same shape as the previous GR Yaris. However, when viewed closely, this hatchback has undergone a number of changes. Not only in terms of design and technical changes, the manufacturer ensures that this car is sold unlimitedly.

Marketing Director of PT TAM Hiroyuki Oide, said that GR Yaris facelift is produced sustainably, but not in bulk like other models in Indonesia and depends on the quota provided.

"The unit is not limited as before, so it is regular. However, this car is not much like Innova. So there is an allocation because of the global model," said Oide when met by the media at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Wednesday, July 17.

However, his party will try to get a quota according to the orders received and now TAM is trying to negotiate to make it happen.

"We are currently trying to negotiate, depending on the order but we are trying to do it according to orders," said the man who is familiarly called Heru.

He also added that customers can receive units in the not long term of about 3 months. But for customers who want to order, they have to go through the queue process.

"GR Yaris can be obtained within 2-3 months after this GIIAS, it can be worked on and consumers who order, have to queue," added Heru.

GR Yaris has a change in the exterior at the bottom front or the bumper has a new structure that is more sporty than before. Lower side lattices are now equipped with larger openings to ensure cooling performance.

Changes are also clearly visible on the back with the bottom being redesigned, to optimize aerodynamics and exhaust disposal. The back lights also experience changes designed to be interconnected from both sides.

This car is claimed to have better performance with an automatic transmission of eight accelerations developed and combined with a four-wheel drive (4WD).

The transmission was developed by combining motorsport elements and the typical performance of urban cars or highways. Toyota said that the automatic transmission system would be as fun as a manual displacement of teeth.

Although the manufacturer maintains a 1.6 liter turbo engine as before, GR Yaris facelift has an enhanced power from 272 ps to 304 ps and torques from 370 Nm to 400 Nm, thus increasing the excitement of driving.

Toyota sells this hot hatch in two transmission variants, namely manual at a price of Rp1.15 billion and Rp1,198 billion for automatic transmission on The Road DKI Jakarta.
