JAKARTA - Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Ferrari announced two new warranty extension schemes that allow Ferrari's plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model owners to replace vehicle batteries at a certain time.

This move aims to help owners maintain their Ferrari resales value. The reason is, batteries that tend to lose efficiency over time are important factors in determining the value of electric cars.

This tungkkrak horse brand is the first to offer replacement for the scheduled high-voltage battery (HVB) in the 8th and 16th years of car ownership.

These two new services are further increasing the ranks of Ferrari's leading full-sale program in its class.

This guarantee applies to Ferrari plug-in car (PHEV) owners from SF90 Stradale, SF90 Spider, SF90 XX Stradale, SF90 XX Spider, 296 GTB and 296 GTS, reads Ferrari's statement in its release, quoted July 3.

For the record, Ferrari has been offering five-year warranty on their hybrid powertrain component.

"If there is a development of battery technology in the future, replacement HVB will be a new, sophisticated component that will ensure the same performance as the original," the company said.

The program, which also offers a form of extension of factory warranty across their main cars and powertrain components, can be purchased in packages that can be extended for two to four years.

The manufacturer, known for its wild-powered gasoline engines, has been selling hybrid cars since 2019, including SF90 Stradale, 296 GTB, and 296 GTS.

Meanwhile, for pure electric cars (EVs), Ferrari has confirmed that their first EV will launch by the end of 2025.
