JAKARTA - The automaker from Sweden Volvo is rumored to be returning the estate or wagon model to the British market after its sale was discontinued last year.

Autocar reported, Wednesday, June 19, this Swedish-based manufacturer will bring back models such as V60 and V90 due to rising demand for estate cars on the UK market.

The manufacturer says that it will start accepting orders on these two models starting next month and will continue to evaluate all possibilities in marketing several high demand models.

We are very pleased with the many comments from customers and the media last year, with many stories and memories of how our estate cars have become a big part of their lives, wrote Volvo.

Unfortunately, Volvo is not willing to provide a response regarding the launch of the latest version of V60 or V90 considering the age of both is almost 10 years for the current generation.

"We do not comment on future model plans," Volvo said.

However, the return of wagon products is not accompanied by sedan models such as S60 and S90. The manufacturers do not want to confirm whether in the future these two models will return to King Charles' country.

The V60 model offers a 2.0 liter mid-hybrid engine that produces 195 dk of power capable of sliding from 0 to 100 km/hour in 7.6 seconds. This platform is also presented in the Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) option with 348 dk and 453 dk of power.

Meanwhile, V90 is only presented in the PHEV powertrain which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in 5.5 seconds and can run with pure power up to 58 km in one charge.

In the UK, Volvo V60 sells for 47,750 pounds (Rp992.6 million) for mid-hybrid and 57,580 (Rp1.1 billion) for PHEV. Meanwhile, the V90 model is priced at 62,220 pounds (Rp1.2 billion).

The sale of these two models lasted slowly during 2023 globally with a total of 44,600 units. This number is relatively small when compared to the best-selling model of XC60 amounting to 228,600 units.
