90 Units Of Chery Tiggo 5X Car Affected By Recall, Here's The Problem

JAKARTA - Bad news came from Chery. This automotive company from China opened a recall campaign on the Tiggo 5X Pro model in the Philippines and called the owners to bring their vehicles for inspection.

Reporting from Top Gear Philippines, Monday, May 27, the affected model is said to have platforms and similar methods such as Omoda 5, where this crossover also passed the recall period due to its broken rear axis in Malaysia and Indonesia.

"As part of our steadfast commitment to ensuring the safety and satisfaction of its customers, Chery Auto Philippines has taken a proactive approach by embarking on a safety inspection campaign for the Tiggo 5X Pro vehicle sold by our dealer," wrote Chery Auto Philippines.

The manufacturer also said that the Tiggo 5X Pro has an inadequate dimension of welding beads on rear torque beams that can cause damage as long as the vehicle is running.

Chery mentioned that 90 units of the 2024 model affected vehicles. Vehicle owners will receive an official notification letter from the company and will immediately be contacted by local dealers to facilitate the necessary checks on the back doubles.

Examination of the rear axis will take less than 30 minutes. If a replacement is needed, it will take a minimum of 5 hours depending on the schedule for the arrival of customers. This inspection or repair is done for free.

In Indonesia, Chery has withdrawn 420 units of Omoda 5 due to problems with the rear-wheeled shell casing component. Chery Sales Indonesia decided to contact consumers who could potentially be affected to conduct inspections at the nearest Chery dealer.

Previously, 600 units of Omoda 5 were also affected by the recall in Malaysia due to the same problem following an incident on social media where this car suffered a broken as wheel without any accidents at all.
