VinFast Successfully Sends Around 9,700 Vehicle Units In The First Quarter Of 2024

JAKARTA - The automotive manufacturer from Vietnam, VinFast, managed to achieve positive results by increasing vehicle shipments in the first quarter of this year.

According to a Reuters report on Thursday, April 18, manufacturers have shipped nearly 9,700 units in the first three months, up 444 percent compared to last year's gains.

VinFast CEO Le Thi Thu Thuy, said that more than half of the shipments were channeled to taxi operator affiliates and electric vehicle tenants in Vietnam, Green SM.

The woman who was born in Hanoi, Vietnam said that her party is targeting a wider customer base to be accompanied by an increase in sales services such as a network of dealers, so that this can encourage growth in the second half of this year amid the various challenges that will be faced.

VinFast sees the ongoing global economic and geopolitical instability as a short-term challenge, Thuy said.

The company owned by VinGroup maintains its target of delivering 100,000 electric vehicles by 2024 amid intense price competition and global economic uncertainty in car sales.

Since its establishment in 2017, VinFast has succeeded in making a number of breakthroughs in global automotive industry, one of which is by focusing on the sale of electric vehicles (EVs) starting in 2022.

Currently, the company based in Haiphong, Vietnam has explored a number of markets, one of which is in the United States by establishing 10 new dealer networks in Uncle Sam's country. VinFast's total dealer services in the US are 16 facilities.

The brand has also entered the Indonesian market and debuted at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024 in February by showing off five models, consisting of VF e34, VF 5, VF 6, VF 8 and VF 9.

In addition, VinFast also disbursed funds of up to Rp. 18 billion in Indonesia, including building a new manufacturing factory, located in Batang, Central Java. In fact, recently officially opened its first dealer network located in Depok, West Java.
