Accelerating Transformation, MPV Volvo EM90 Starts Mass Production In China

JAKARTA - After being officially introduced on November 12, 2023, MPV EM90 is now starting at Geely's factory in Hangzhou Bay in China.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Wednesday, February 7, the Swedish automaker shared photos from the assembly line, and stated that Volvo EM90 is accelerating the comprehensive transformation of the brand's electrification.

In more detail, EM90 dimension has a length of 5,206 mm, a width of 2,024 mm, a height of 1,859 mm with a wheelbase of 325 mm. As well as standing on the SEA Geely platform that supports Polestar 4, Lotus Eletre.

Basically, Volvo EM90 is the renamed MPV Zeekr 009 with customized polished and exterior interiors. You can see this one MPV has a modern and dashing design, and comes in six seats with 2+2+2 and 21 Bowers Wilkins speakers.

In terms of safety, this one car is equipped with 30 sensors including eight cameras, five wave radars and 16 ultrasonic radars to achieve 2+ level advanced driving capabilities.

In the cabin also almost no physical buttons in the interior, these functions are integrated into 8-inch instrument panels and 14.5-inch floating center control screens, making them more minimalist.

Regarding powertrain, it consists of a permanent magnetic synchronous motor of 200 kW/343 Nm behind and a 116 kWh lithium terner battery pack, providing a cruising range of 738 km. The highest speed is 180 km/hour and the acceleration time is 0-100 km/hour to reach 8.3 seconds. This car is priced at 818 thousand yuan or around Rp. 1.7 billion.
