Xpeng Expands Production Capacity In One Of Its Factorys For The Latest EV Model

JAKARTA - The Chinese electric vehicle company, Xpeng plans to increase production lines at one of its factories designed to prepare the latest model.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Friday, January 26, Xpeng has launched an upgrade project at Zhaoqing plant in Guangdong province, which is planned to invest more than 100 million yuan.

With this investment, it is intended for production lines and logistical equipment, welding, painting. All aimed at the assembly of electric cars in the short term.

The plan, this work will take about 20 days, with the entire renovation project expected to be completed on February 9, and the production line as a whole will be completed by the end of February.

Xpeng did not say how much factory capacity would be expanded, but said the new model is expected to start production this year. The plant, which is Xpeng's first factory, is located at the Zhaoqing Hi-Tech Zone and will start production in May 2020.

As is known, in August 2021, Xpeng began its first major increase in Zhaoqing's plant, which increased its annual production capacity from 100,000 to 200,000 units.

In addition to the factory in Zhaoqing, Xpeng has another factory in Guangzhou, the city where Xpeng is headquartered. The factory started operating in early 2023 and is designed to have an annual capacity of 120,000 vehicles.
