Nissan Z And GT-R Laris Manis In The US During 2023, Proof That Sport Cars Still Have A Lot Of Interest

JAKARTA - Nissan managed to record impressive sales results in the US during 2023. This Japanese manufacturer managed to achieve total sales of 898,796 units through 22 of its model lines, an increase of 23.2 percent compared to 2022.

Of the total number of vehicles sold, two sports car model lines, namely Z and GT-R, also experienced a significant increase during 2023.

Based on a report from Nissan's official website, Thursday, December 4, model Z managed to record sales of up to 462 units in the late quarter of last year, an increase of 161 percent from 2022 in the same period (177 units).

This impressive result was followed by GT-R which recorded sales of 78 units during the fourth quarter of 2023, an increase of 7,700 percent from the previous year in the same period (only 1 unit was sold).

Meanwhile, Nissan Z obtained sales of 1,771 units during 2023 or an increase of 573 percent compared to the previous acquisition which only sold 263 units. Meanwhile, GT-R managed to sell as many as 390 units or better 584 percent compared to 2022 totaling 57 units.

Nissan Z was launched in August 2021 and received a good response thanks to its design inspired by its first-generation model and its powerful performance. This car even won several awards, one of which was the Drive Car of The Year Awards' category "Best Sports Couple" in 2023.

Carrying a 3.0 liter VR30DDTT twin-turbo V6 engine, the sporty-style compact-dimensional car has up to 400 dk of power and 475 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the NISMO version gains up to 420 dk of power and 521 Nm of torque.

Unlike Z, Nissan GT-R is one of the oldest models that has not been launched by its newest generation. Although it has been launched for a long time since 2007, this model has experienced several reshuffles that make this car even more favored by automotive enthusiasts around the world.

Continuing the legacy of the GT-R Skyline, this sporty car won a myriad of awards, including the 'Top Gear Awards' category 'Sports Car of The Year' in 2007, Autocar Awards in the Drivers Car of The Year 2008, to the Motor Magazine Awards as Car of The Year in 2011.

With a 3.8 liter twin-turbocharged VR38DETT V6 engine, GT-R has power ranging from 473 dk at the beginning of its launch to 562 dk. Meanwhile, the NISMO version has a larger power of up to 592 dk.
