Electric Car Seres E1 Starts To Be Produced Locally In Banten

JAKARTA - PT Sokoindo Automobile officially started production of Seres E1 at its facility located in Cikande, Serang, Banten at the end of 2023. This step also reflects the company's commitment to presenting vehicles in style, modern, and affordable by paying attention to local principles.

Production of the E1 Seres at a factory owned by PT Sokoindo Automobile shows the results of long-term investments that have been made for several years, producing quality vehicles at affordable prices. This car, as a competitor to Wuling Air EV, can be accessed by the Indonesian people at prices ranging from Rp. 189 million (on the road DKI Jakarta).

"We are proud to be able to start the E1 Seres assembly in Indonesia, allowing consumers to immediately own this electric vehicle in their garage. This local assembly not only supports the sustainability of mobility in Indonesia but also provides affordable access to electric vehicles," said Marketing Head of PT Sokoindo Automobile, Achmad Rofiqi, in his statement, Thursday, December 14.

Seres E1, an electric vehicle suitable for urban areas, is the second model assembled at the Cikande factory. All vehicles from this factory achieve high production standards thanks to the use of industrial-based modern technology 4.0 and highly standardized labor.

The DFSK factory, which oversees PT Sokoindo Automobile, has adopted robotic technology of up to 90 percent in the production process. This technology involves robotic arms operating automatically through an internet connection for efficient coordination.

The use of robotic technology aims to improve the precision of workforce in producing electric vehicles with a high level of security, reliability, and competitiveness in the market.

The E1 series is equipped with a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery with a maximum range of 220 km (SERES E1 Type L), with ease of daily charging at home. Seres E1 performance, with a maximum torque of 100 Nm and automatic transmission, provides comfort in driving on the streets of the capital.

The E1 Seres security features include Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brave Assist (BA), Hill Hold Control, parking cameras, cruise control, and driving mode. The E1 Type L series is also equipped with Electronic Stability Control and Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold.

In addition, PT Sokoindo Automobile guarantees an 8-year warranty for batteries, 3-year warranty for vehicles, and free maintenance services for 3 years, providing certainty for consumers in traveling with Seres E1.
