JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that rainfall in Indonesia will continue to increase until February 2024.

This feature has a significant role to play in keeping the car stable and giving more control to drivers in dangerous conditions.

According to Hariadi, Asst. to Service Dept. Head of PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, the ESP feature in Suzuki cars has an important role in improving driving safety, especially in conditions prone to rain.

"By allowing the ESP feature to be active, drivers can relax more while driving because ESPN will play a role in detecting travel conditions and car maneuvers quickly, as well as automatically making corrections to the braking system, as well as stability if needed to get the best traction that provides a sense of security for drivers," he said, Thursday, December 7.

As is known, most models of Suzuki passenger cars have also been equipped with ESPN such as Grand Vitara, New XL7 Hybrid, All New Ertiga Hybrid, Baleno, Jimny, Ignis to S-Presso.

In general, ESPN is an active safety system designed to help maintain stability when tilting if the front wheel or rear wheel slips, and maintain traction at a time when there is acceleration on the surface of the road that is uneven or slippery.

In other words, when the Electronic Stability Program (ESPmen) detects the potential for slips or loss of traction on wheels, the ESPN system will automatically respond by reducing engine power or dividing power on driving wheels that are more needed, and controlling braking pressure to wheels selectively, thereby reducing the risk of accidents

In addition, the ESPN feature can control 4 active safety systems, including the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), the Assist Brake System, the Traction Control System, and the Stability Control System, which each supports the performance of the system's deceleration and power successor to each wheel, which is automatically active when vehicles detect abnormal conditions at the speed of the car's wheels.

The ABS system plays a role in avoiding locked brakes and wheels so that drivers can guard the direction of the car when braking hard on slippery roads or sudden braking. At the same time, the driver braking an emergency, the Brave Assist system will immediately actively provide greater braking pressure assistance so that the vehicle stops faster.

In slippery road conditions due to rain or other inhibition media, sensors on the Traffic Control system will be automatically active to limit wheel rotation so as to prevent slips when the vehicle starts to move. Meanwhile, the Stability Control System which will provide integrated control on brakes, traffic control, and engine control so that vehicle stability is maintained even if the steering wheel is turned suddenly.
