JAKARTA - World's largest electric vehicle battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL) announced that its new platform, the CATL Integrated Intelligent Chassis (CIIC), has completed testing in China.
CIIC (CATL Integrated Intelligent Chassis) is presented to integrate batteries, electric motors, and other important units into one platform that supports EVs (electric vehicles), and can lower production costs, vehicle weights, and energy consumption while maximizing passenger space.
Quoted from the Carnewschina page, December 1, based on the tests that have been carried out, the company claims to reach a range of 1,000 km, consumption of 10.5 kWh/100 km, and successfully charging 300 km in 5 minutes, based on existing photos, the car is likely from Neta.
As is known in January, the first partner to sign an agreement with CATL to use their skateboard chassis was the maker of an electric vehicle from China, namely Horon Auto, which houses the Neta brand.
The two companies above partnered to develop a joint platform and announce the first CIIC-powered model will launch in Q3 2024. CIIC is expected to bring high-level integration between cars and chassis, reducing overall cost and development cycles.
Previously, CATL Chief Scientist Wu Kai said that CATL had reached a breakthrough in CIIC development. Where testing has been carried out during winter in Heihe, northern China, as well as summer testing.
The result is that CIIC reaches a range of 1,000 km, and battery efficiency reaches 75 percent. At low temperatures of -7 degrees, the range decreases by 30 percent. While the battery consumption is 10.5 kWh/km, and can add 300 km in 5 minutes.
