Potentially Burned, Toyota Recalls 570,000 Vehicles In China

Toyota is again facing unpleasant news because its two joint ventures, FAW Toyota and GAC Toyota, must hold a recall program in China.

The vehicles that impacted this amounted to around 570,000 units of vehicles produced from 2018 to 2023. The cars affected by this problem consisted of several models sold in the bamboo curtain country.

Reporting from Carnewschina, Friday, December 1, the Toyota Motor Recall FAW model of Corolla was produced between August 6, 2019 and July 11, 2023, with a total of 350,021 vehicles.

Then from GAC Toyota Motor withdrew the Highlander unit which was produced between October 13, 2018 and January 14, 2022, which amounted to 157,458 units. Meanwhile, from Toyota Motor China Investment, they withdrew the RX import model between production on September 4, 2018 and September 6, 2022, totaling 68,434 units.

Affected vehicles are known to have problems with the high-pressure fuel pump and have the potential to experience wear on the inside. This can cause cracks in the welding section and increase the risk of a fire.

At the same time, fuel leaks and evaporates, causing an unnatural emission hazard. In tackling this problem, the manufacturer will examine the section and the recall will be charged free of charge.

The owner of the affected vehicle is advised to always stay away from the source of the fire. If the user finds a smell or fuel leak, it is mandatory to stop the vehicle and immediately contact the dealers for inspection.
