JAKARTA - Morris Garage (MG) announced the models to be produced locally in Indonesia, namely MG ZS EV and MG4 EV.

Thus, the British manufacturer has a strong commitment to present EVs to make it easier for Indonesian customers.

Arief Syarifudin, as Marketing & PR Director of MG Motor Indonesia, said that the production process locally (CKD) will begin with the MG ZS EV model and will begin in February, followed by other electric vehicles, such as the MG4 EV.

"By starting production of the MG ZS EV in February 2024, we are taking concrete steps in our contribution to the Indonesian automotive industry," Arief said in his remarks to the media at the Ashta District 8 SCBD, Senayan, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 15.

He added that the production of MG ZS EV and MG4 EV in Indonesia is part of the company's global strategy in dealing with high demand for electric vehicles and showing the role of brands in encouraging environmentally friendly ecosystems.

"We are excited to announce that our plans in Indonesia for local manufacturing development are going well," added Arief.

The factory that will produce the two electric vehicles is located in Cikarang, West Java, using the SAIC Facility. MG claims that the factory can produce 100,000 annual vehicles.

It is hoped that the construction of the factory can have a positive impact on the economy, the development of Human Resources (HR), and the overall growth of the automotive industry in Indonesia.
